Features

System Requirements


This version of FCAP Array software has been validated for use on computers running English (United States) Regional Options:

  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional operating system (SP4)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Professional and Business Edition

Compatibility with computers and operating systems using other Regional Options has not been tested.

The software should also work on computers with MS Windows 98 SE, MS Windows ME, MS Windows XP Home Edition, MS Windows Vista Home Basic/Enterprise/Ultimate Edition operating systems.

FCAP Array software requires a PC workstation equipped with the following minimum configuration:

  • Pentium-compatible processor (Pentium® III 600 Mhz or better recommended)
  • 64 MB of RAM (128 MB recommended)
  • 24 MB of available hard-drive space
  • CD ROM drive for installation
  • 256-color display (true color recommended)
  • USB port for the hardware key
  • (Optional) serial port, USB, or keyboard-type barcode reader


Installation


Refer to Installing FCAP Array Software in the FCAP Array Software Quick Start Guide or in the Online Manual at www.fcaparray.com.



Launching FCAP Array Software


1. To launch FCAP Array v2.0 software, do either of the following:
a) Double-click the FCAP Array v2.0 software shortcut icon on the desktop
b) Select Start > Programs > FCAP Array v2.0 > FCAP Array v2.0
As the software launches, the Login to FCAP Array™ dialog is displayed.



2. Enter your user name and password. Click Log in.

If the login fails, a message appears that inform you about the error.

NOTICE User names and passwords are case-sensitive. The password can be blank. When FCAP Array v2.0 software is installed there is a user with user name Administrator, password welcome, and administrative rights. The Administrator password should be changed immediately, and accounts created as needed. When you run the program without hardware key, it starts in Demo mode, you can login without password as Demo user. Demo user can not import, export, save and print the work.

If the login is successful, the FCAP Array v2.0 software’s Main window is displayed with the Experiment Library.



Known Issues


Experiment, Sample, and Standard Name for Files to be Imported into BD FACSArray™ Software

BD FACSArray™ software cannot import experiments that contain any of the following characters in the experiment, sample, or standard names: period, comma, forward slash, or back slash. Therefore, users creating an FCAP Array experiment to direct acquisition on the BD FACSArray™ bioanalyzer, cannot use any of the restricted characters in the experiment, sample, or standard names.


BD FACSArray™ Software BD™ CBA Flex Set Templates

To ensure that the P1 singlet gate is applied to the exported template file within BD FACSArray™ software, ensure all setup control wells are acquired, close the Experiment, and then open it before saving it as a template.



Limitations

FCAP Array is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
